I've heard so many horror stories from my friends about their experiences with their contractors, but I didn't have a single hiccup at all. Derek worked with me on my tight budget and he's really knowledgable. He gave me all options and even offered me advice that would cut costs (what contractor is willing to offer you a cost-saving option)? He wasn't pushy or sales-pitchy at all, but just had great intentions to make my house look great. We refaced the cabinets in my kitchen, and built-in cabinets in my living room, tore down a part of a wall, and painted my whole house. He even made me custom glass door cabinets and did beyond what was on our contract. He's extremely meticulous and precise about everything he does. His paint job (which was my biggest worry) was so clean and beautiful! I would recommend him to anyone and everyone who needs any work! We're already deciding to do a few more changes to the house (that we didn't think of before), and I would not want to work with anyone else other than him!

He is the consumate professional, taking pride in his work and doing all he can to guide the home owner to making wise choices to improve the home. Derek is totally trustworthy also. I had no reservations with having him working in my home while I was at work. He maintains open communication with you to ensure the work being done is what you want. He is also conscientious to keep the rest of the house protected from the area he is working in.....taking care as much as possible to keep dust and dirt from spreading throughout the rest of the house. He is also conscientious to clean up after himself at the end of each work day so that the house is still livable and useable until his return the next day. He did a beautiful job recreating the whole bathroom into a spa like experience - he is very professional, cleaned up after each day and really tried to keep my costs as close to my budget as possible. He helped me pick out paint, the shower glass doors - so his expertise in this was so valuable as I may have chosen things that wouldn't have looked as good. I am going to hire him again to replace my kitchen counters, backsplash and sink. He is the absolute BEST and was a pleasure to work with on a very challenging project.

Read More the price at any point in the renovation other than when we asked him to do something differently that would clearly change the cost. For example, after demo we decide that it would be a good time to replace our old aluminum wiring. Derek was able to add that in a timely manner and obviously we knew there would be a cost change. Derek was always clear with costs and kept track of where we were at in payments.

Derek was also always on time and never seemed annoyed when we would ask questions about certain things before they were finished (I'm sure a homeowners and their kids sticking their head in and asking about various things can be irritating).

We love how our kitchen turned out and Derek even did a few Pinterest style things for us that were new to him. But they turned out excellent.

We will use Derek again and we would happily recommend him to others in the north OC area.

What especially impressed us was the way Derek handled himself through the entire remodel process: he was always courteous, returned all emails or phone calls right away, made excellent suggestions in design and material choices but was never over-bearing. We can be a bit picky sometimes but Derek never lost his composure or had an attitude, he was always positive and helpful. Finally, he is quite skilled in his craft of remodeling but what is even more important, he is a man of integrity.
